† Denotes indicators used to calculate the human poverty index (HPI-1). For further details, see Technical note 1.
| 1 - | Income poverty refers to the share of the population living on less than $1 a day. All countries with an income poverty rate of less than 2% were given equal rank. The rankings are based on countries for which data are available for both indicators. A positive figure indicates that the country performs better in income poverty than in human poverty, a negative the opposite. |
